VIRGINIA VALLI was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1897, and received her education in that city. Following her graduation from school, Miss Valli made her first professional appearance as a dancer, dancing being her youthful ambition. Her screen debut at the old Essanay Studio in Chicago followed a short engagement with a stock company in Milwaukee. New York City next claimed petite Virginia's attention, and while there she played in a number of Broadway successes. Bert Lytell next chose Miss Valli as his leading lady, which brought her to Hollywood, where she has since been starred by the Universal Company. Miss Valli is one of the real athletic girls of the screen. She is an ardent advocate of the outdoors life, being an excellent hiker, swimmer and tennis player. She is 5 feet 3 inches in height, weighs 122 lbs., and has brown hair and blue eyes.
