JOHN BOWERS was born in Indiana on December 27th., and after finishing school decided he would seek a career on the stage. Accordingly he secured an engagement with Beulah Poynter in "The Family Cupboard" where he earned considerable praise because of the excellence of his performance. Mr. Bowers is one of the most popular of leading men and owes his first screen appearance to the keen eye of D. W. Griffith for whom he made his debut in the silent drama. He has had a wide screen experience working for most of the important companies at one time or another during his career. His winning personality has won a host of friends for Mr. Bowers. He is an earnest worker, always lending to his performance a finished character depiction. He is 6 feet in height, weighs 180 lbs., and has curly dark hair, and dark eyes.
