WALLACE BERRY was born in Kansas City, Mo., on April 1st., 1886, and attended school in that city until his 18th. year, when he developed a desire to attain fame as an actor. He appeared on the legitimate stage with Henry W. Irving and then entered the films. From the beginning he displayed a rare aptitude for screen work, playing and directing pictures with equal success. He began screen work with the old Essanay Company and has worked in Universal pictures, his range of experience bringing him even a period with the old Keystone Comedy Company. He was at one time married to Gloria Swanson and is a brother of Noah Berry. Mr. Beery is a powerful man, standing 6 feet in height and weighing 200 lbs. He has dark hair and sparkling brown eyes which permit him to play the meanest villains or the happiest characters, at will.
