DOROTHY GISH was born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1898, and received her education there and from private tutors. She made her first stage appearance in company with her sister Lillian, when but 4 years of age, appearing in "East Lynne." She has since risen to great fame, both as a comedienne of rare talent, and as a dramatic actress. She is married to James Rennie, the stage and screen star, and began her screen career at the time her illustrious sister did. Both appeared under Mr. Griffith's direction, and soon won fame through their superb screen characterizations. Miss Gish is an intensely active girl, swimming and riding being her favorite recreations. Though always seen on the screen with dark hair, she really has blond hair. The transformation was adopted to distinguish her from her sister. She is 5 feet tall, weighs 125 lbs., and has blue eyes.
