Charles Ogle

CHARLES OGLE was born in Morgan County, Ohio, and was educated there and at the College of Law in Chicago. Law did not appeal to him, however, and he soon decided to go on the stage. He had a varied, though highly successful career, in the spoken drama, playing throughout the country for about twenty years before he made his screen debut with Edison. His aptness for motion picture portrayals was soon recognized and he signed a long term contract with Famous Players, continuing with the company until the present time. Although he has played a wide variety of character roles, he is known chiefly for his excellence in butler characterizations, being, perhaps, the best known of all screen butlers. Mr. Ogle is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, and has black-gray hair and brown eyes.
