Harry Carey
HARRY CAREY was born in New York City in 1880 and received his education there studying law at both Hamilton Institute and New York University. It was the wish of his father who was a noted jurist that he become a lawyer. Illness caused him to live in the West where, time hanging heavy on his hands, he sought a theatrical career. Followed then a visit to the Biograph Studios in New York. His success was immediate and he never returned to the speaking stage. He has created a tremendous following among lovers of the western style of pictures as he excels in this characterization and so great is his love for the west that he has purchased a ranch of 1000 acres about 40 miles from Los Angeles. He is married and has a child. Mr. Carey is 6 feet in height, weighs 180 lbs., and has light hair and blue eyes.
