ALLA NAZIMOVA was born in Yalta, Crimea, Russia, on May 22nd., and received her education in Zurich and Odessa, later attending the dramatic school at Moscow. She began an active stage career in stock playing in her native land, where she created a favorable impression by her work. Her American debut was made in Russian repertoire, and when the company which had brought her to America failed, she remained, mastering the English language, and then appeared on the stage in one success after another. Herbert Brenon introduced her to motion picture audiences, and she has since made a number of notable pictures. Alla Nazimova is married, is an accomplished musician, playing the violin with skill, and is at home astride a horse. She is 5 feet 3 inches in height, weighs 116 lbs., and has black hair and violet eyes.
