ALICE CALHOUN was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended school in that city. From the earliest days of her memory this charming young lady craved a professional career and while she was still a high school lass of 16 she persuaded her mother to come to New York City where she secured an opportunity to appear in several Vitagraph pictures. Ere long she was marked by Vitagraph directors as being a splendid actress and at 17 was promoted to stardom. Hers is a rare personality. Possessing a wealth of native ability, she has developed into one of the finest of emotional actresses. Miss Calhoun lives with a devoted mother who is her constant companion. She is a great reader, possessing a splendid library, in her Hollywood home, and she is also an accomplished musician. She is 5 feet 5 inches in height, weighs 125 lbs., and has reddish-brown hair and hazel eyes.
