Eugene O'Brien
EUGENE O'BRIEN was born in Boulder, Colorado, in 1884, and received his education there and at the University of Colorado. It was the wish of his parents that he become a doctor and Mr. O'Brien studied to fit himself for this profession. Lacking interest in this calling, he was persuaded to undertake the study of civil engineering, and finally took the bit in his teeth and left for New York where he searched for an opportunity to appear on the stage. Becoming a chorus man he gained considerable experience, and played in musical comedy for a few years. Then came an opportunity to portray dramatic roles through the managerial wisdom of the late Charles Frohman, and from that period on Mr. O'Brien achieved greatness. Selznick finally introduced him to the screen. He is 6 feet tall, weighs 160 lbs., and has light brown hair and blue eyes.
