Stuart Holmes

STUART HOLMES was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 10th., 1887, and was educated at the Art Institute in that city. His stage career was extensive, and he is well remembered for his excellent work with Henry E. Dixey in "Mary Jane's Pa." Mr. Holmes was so well suited both histrionically and physically for the type of screen villains he has made famous that it was not long before many motion picture companies sought his services. Since his screen debut, he has been urged many times to return to the spoken drama but he loves too much the outdoor life that California affords to return to the rush of the larger cities. Mr. Holmes is particularly devoted to dogs and is seldom seen on the street without one. He is 6 feet tall, weighs 180 lbs., and has red hair and real villain's green eyes.
