RUDOLPH VALENTINO was born in Castellaneto, Italy, on May 6th., 1895, and spent the early years of his life on his parents' farm. Later he was sent to the Royal Military Academy, and then to the College of Genoa. Seeking opportunity in America, the youth emigrated to our friendly shores, and today he occupies an enviable position in the world of the silent drama. His first chance came when he was employed by Joan Sawyer to dance with her in vaudeville. Following this he sought an opportunity in motion pictures, but was accorded a cool reception by the Hollywood casting directors. He played minor parts, finally attracting the attention of Rex Ingram who started him on the road to stardom. He is married, is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 160 lbs., and has black hair and brown eyes.
