MARY PICKFORD was born in Toronto, Canada, on April 8th., 1893, and made her first appearance on the legitimate stage when but 5 years of age, appearing with the Valentine Stock Company then playing in Toronto. Road work followed, with David Belasco finally offering her a Broadway engagement in "The Warrens of Virginia." D.W. Griffith then engaged her as a star for his Biograph productions, and she was teamed with Owen Moore. She is without doubt one of the greatest figures in the world of the silent drama, being a power both as an actress and executive. Famed in every corner of the globe, her earnings have often been more than a million dollars per year. She enjoys most outdoors sports, and takes particular pride in the athletic prowess of her husband, Douglas Fairbanks. She is 5 feet in height, weighs 105 lbs., and has golden hair and hazel eyes.
