JULANNE JOHNSTON was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and when an infant her family settled in Pittsburgh, Pa., and after a short stay they moved to Los Angeles, where fair Julanne attended the Hollywood School for Girls, from which she was graduated. Mean-while she had been studying dancing and went on tour with the Ruth St. Denis Concert Dancers, which led to her first screen engagement, in the capacity of a dancer. Picture "bits" followed, and then a vaudeville tour. Miss Johnston scored a great success on the screen as the Princess in "The Thief of Bagdad." She has also appeared in Fox comedies, is a globe-trotter of fame, and swims, rides, hikes, plays tennis and golf, and owns to a love of flowers. She is 5 feet 6 inches in height, weighs 120 lbs., and has brown hair and gray eyes.
