John Gilbert
JOHN GILBERT was born in Logan, Utah, in 1895, and received his education at Hitchcock Military Academy in San Rafael, California. He made his first professional appearance with the Baker Stock Company in Portland, Oregon, and has since appeared with other similar organizations, both permanently located in large cities, and on the road. His screen debut was made with the Thomas H. Ince Company, and he attracted attention by his excellent work, being immediately cast for a role in a Mary Pickford production. He is undoubtedly one of the most popular of the younger screen stars, and is noted also as a capable director, having directed Hope Hampton in two of her best pictures. He has a most engaging personality which screens admirably, and is a splendid dancer. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 160 lbs., and has dark hair and eyes.
