Florence Vidor

FLORENCE VIDOR was born in Houston, Texas, on July 23rd., 1895, and received her education in that city. Her name was originally Florence Arto, and her father was a well known realty agent. She met King Vidor who at that time was directing a picture in Houston, and the two were married, later making their home in Hollywood. It remained for a Vitagraph director to offer her a role in a screen production, while she was visiting her friend Corinne Griffith at the Vitagraph Studio. She accepted, and Vitagraph executives, seeing in her beauty and ability, a possible "discovery," placed her under contract. Her success was quickly achieved. She is the mother of a strapping son, rides and swims with skill, and is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 120 lbs., and has brown hair and eyes.
