Hobart Bosworth

HOBART BOSWORTH was born in Marietta, Ohio, on August 11th., 1867, and is a direct descendant of John and Priscilla Alden and Miles Standish. In early youth he followed the sea serving in sailing ships finally ending his career on the water with a whaling trip to the Arctic. Then he was in succession a boxer, wrestler, ranchman, and actor appearing on the stage for the first time in San Francisco, in 1855. Then for 10 years he was a member of the famous Daly Stock Company in New York. Returning to the Pacific coast he was one of the first to join the old Selig Company. After years before the camera he again went on the stage appearing in vaudeville. Then came another intensive attack upon the screen which has landed Mr. Bosworth in the very front rank of screen stars. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 200 lbs., and has gray hair and blue eyes.
