GLORIA SWANSON was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 27th., 1898, and received her education in the schools of that city. Attracted to the old Essanay Studio in Chicago, Gloria, then about 16 years old, was soon cast for minor parts. The urge to act was so great, she left her home for Hollywood where she secured an engagement with Mack Sennett. Tiring of comedy work, she found a place in a dramatic production, and gradually rose to her present high pinnacle of screen fame and fortune. She is a splendid actress, wears gowns with superb effect, and enjoys a tremendous following. She is found of music and dancing, reads whenever the opportunity presents itself, and has a baby daughter. Miss Swanson is 5 feet 3 inches in height, weighs but 110 lbs., and has brown hair and gray-blue eyes.
