DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS was born in Denver, Colorado, on May 23rd., 1894, and received his early education there. His father was a prominent attorney. In 1901 the family removed to New York City, where young Douglas received his first stage experience, when but 17. Later he entered Harvard University as a special student. Following this he earned his passage abroad and upon his return accepted a position in Wall Street, with a siege of law reading following, and then again the stage. Then came the screen and from his first appearance on the silver sheet he has steadily advanced to dominating proportions in the film world. His virile, romantic type of characterizations have brought him enduring fame and considerable fortune. He is an all-round athelete, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 165 lbs., and has dark hair and eyes.
