GERTRUDE OLMSTEAD was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 13th., 1904, and received her education in La Salle, Illinois. She was the winner of a beauty contest conducted by a newspaper of her home city, and was selected from thousands of contestants. Journeying to Universal City, she received her screen opportunity, and acquitted herself so well, that she was tendered a contract to remain with the Universal Company for whom she has made many pictures. She is a strikingly beautiful girl, dances to perfection, and spend much time in study and reading. As a golfer she ranks high, and on the tennis courts she holds her own with many noted players. She has won a host of "fan" friends by her sincere efforts on the silver sheet, and is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 110 lbs., and has beautiful light brown hair and gray-blue eyes.
