Edna Murphy
EDNA MURPHY was born in New York City, and received her early education at Manual Training and Bay Ridge High Schools in Brooklyn. Before she was 16 years old, commercial photographers had made her flattering offers to pose for them, and her alluring youth soon found its way into print. In 1919 Vitagraph gave her a small part, and failure in the beginning was caused by nervousness, though her determination to overcome this led her to accept "bits," until she again was ready for her opportunity, this time making a success. As the flirtatious wife in William Fox's "Over the Hill," Miss Murphy won recognition as an accomplished actress. She is fond of reading, riding, and driving her car, and gleans much pleasure from golfing. Miss Murphy is 5 feet 2 inches in height, weighs 118 lbs., and has blond hair and gray eyes.
