DOROTHY DALTON was born in Chicago, Ill., on September 22nd., 1894, and educated in the Sacred Heart Academy of that city. Though first opposing her stage aspirations, her father, learning that she was determined to seek a theatrical career, gave her what assistance he could by placing her under the direction of the late Hart Conway in the American Conservatory of Dramatic Art. A stock engagement launched her on the path to fame and fortune. Later she played in vaudeville on the Orpheum Circuit. Portland was the scene of her first screen appearance, following which she journeyed to Hollywood, where in 1915 Thomas H. Ince gave her a real screen opportunity. All outdoor sports find favor with Miss Dalton who recently married Oscar Hammerstein's son. She is 5 feet 5 inches high, weighs 127 lbs., and has dark brown hair and blue eyes.
