Carol Dempster
CAROL DEMPSTER was born in Santa Maria, Cal., on January 16th., 1902, and was educated in her native state. Her first ambition was to become a dancer, and this was realized when she toured the country in vaudeville with the Denishawn dancers, students of Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn. Her first screen appearance was with D. W. Griffith in "Scarlet Days," and she has since never appeared in pictures of any other director, Mr. Griffith having developed the talent of this dainty star. As one might expect, Miss Dempster's favorite diversion is dancing and it is her intention to return to the stage, if only for a short time, in the near future, so that she can gratify her ambition again to dance in public. One of the most beautiful of the stars developed by Mr. Griffith, she is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 118 lbs., and has dark brown hair and brown eyes.
