DOROTHY MACKAILL was born in Hull, England in 1903, and was educated in her native town and in London. Upon completion of her academic studies, she was privately tutored in dancing and singing in preparation for the stage career she had set her heart on. Her first professional appearance was at the London Hippodrome, after which she came to America, where she has since made her home. After several minor engagements in New York, she joined the Flo Ziegfeld forces at the Midnight Frolic, the training school of so many screen stars. Her chief diversion, once her means of livelihood, is dancing, although she has become a golf enthusiast since her residence in Hollywood. She is 5 feet tall, weighs 121 lbs., and has blond hair and hazel eyes.
