THEODORE ROBERTS was born in San Francisco, California, on October 8th., 1861, and received his education there. He began life as a school teacher. One day he was offered an opportunity to replace an actor who had been taken ill, and so well did he play his part, he was persuaded to remain with the company. Then followed a long career on the stage, and finally in 1914, an offer from Jesse L. Lasky to appear in pictures. Accepting, he quickly made a name for himself as a character actor, and to this day holds his place with the leading purveyors of humorous and whimsical characterizations. He is also a dramatic actor of rare ability. His hobby is birds and the garden of his Hollywood home boasts of many varieties of our feathered friends. He is 6 feet tall, weighs 200 lbs., and has gray hair and blue eyes.
