RUTH CLIFFORD was born in Rhode Island, on February 17th., 1900, and educated in St. Mary's Seminary at Bayview, R. I. Her screen experience dates back to the old Edison days where she began work as an extra. Her rise was rapid as she soon convinced those she was associated with of her ability as an actress. She was assigned to play opposite many leading male stars and finally starred in a series of Universal pictures. Miss Clifford is an able athlete, being an exponent of physical culture. She is a splendid swimmer and may often be seen on the California beaches. Aside from her motion picture work Miss Clifford takes an interest in the culture of flowers, as the beautiful garden about her Hollywood home indicates. She is 5 feet 2 inches in height, weighs 110 lbs., and has blond hair and expressive blue eyes.
