RICHARD BARTHELMESS was born in New York City in 1895, and finished his education in Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He is another of the famous stars of to-day, "discovered" and developed by D. W. Griffith, and from the early days of his career when he played leads with Dorothy Gish, has been a favorite of all screen "fans." "Dick" as his intimates call him, is most popular with all he comes in contact with, possessing a charming personality and sturdy manhood, which instantly stamp him as a level-headed young man. He is married to Mary Hay, noted stage and screen player, and has a beautiful little daughter. He made his first great hit as the Chinaman in Griffith's "Broken Blossoms." He is a champion swimmer and his hobby is the collection of autographed books. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 138 lbs., and has black hair and brown eyes.
