Ramon Novarro
RAMON NOVARRO was born in Durango, Mexico, on September 20th., 1901, and is one of eight children born to Spanish parents. From youth he was taught the English language, and when the family made their home in Los Angeles, Ramon decided to try for a place on the screen. From the very beginning obstacles blocked his path, and the best he could do was to secure small parts where his great dancing skill was of value. He played in many pictures as an extra. To Ferdinand Pinney Earle, the artist, young Mr. Novarro owes his big screen opportunity, that gentleman casting him prominently for his production of "The Rubaiyat." From that time Rex Ingram took an interest in Ramon, and today we know him as a real screen star. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 155 lbs., and has black hair and brown eyes.
