Lew Cody
LEW CODY was born in Waterville, Maine, and attended school in Berlin, N. H., after which he entered McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Eager to become an actor he entered the Stanhope Wheatcroft School of Acting in New York City, but the urge to appear behind the footlights was too great for the future star so, bidding adieu to his teacher, he joined a "one night stand" troupe and secured in practice what he had learned in theory while in school. His rise has been rapid and while touring the West with one of the Shubert New York Winter Garden companies, he attracted the attention of Thomas H. Ince who signed him to a screen contract. He was a featured player from the very beginning and soon earned stardom by the general excellence of his screen portrayals. He is 5 feet 10 inches in height, weighs 170 lbs., and has brown hair and gray eyes and a decided olive complexion.
