James Kirkwood

JAMES KIRKWOOD was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on February 22nd., and received his early education there. As an actor and director, he is one of the veterans of the screen, having been associated with Biograph and Reliance in the earliest days of pictures. Prior to his screen debut, he had a most successful stage career, which he decided to forego for motion pictures at the time when many stage players scoffed at the new art. Mr. Kirkwood starred on the New York speaking stage in "The Fool," one of the most sensational dramas of recent years. Mr. Kirkwood is a sportsman of note, devoting much of his time to thoroughbred horses. He is the husband of Lila Lee, and the couple have a young daughter. He is 6 feet tall, weighs 170 lbs., and has light hair and deep blue eyes.
