HAROLD LLOYD was born in Burchard, Nebraska, in 1893, and received his education there and in Omaha, Denver and San Diego, making many an extra dollar by his business acumen, demonstrated by his success as a newsboy, popcorn vendor, and amateur entertainer. Finishing school he headed for Hollywood, attracted by the $5.00 per day salary of extras. He secured work in the Universal Studio in 1914, bravely asserting that his ambition was to become a character actor. He had experience with stock companies, and this assisted him to make fair progress in the films. The success he has attained stamps him as the peer in his type of entertainment. Mr. Lloyd is married to Mildred Harris, and the couple have a magnificent home in Hollywood. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 150 lbs., and has black hair and blue eyes.
