ETHEL CLAYTON was born in Champaign, Ill., on November 18th., 1890, and her early education was secured amid the peaceful surroundings of St. Elizabeth's Convent, in Chicago. Beginning her professional career with the inevitable "bits" she was soon elevated to the rank of featured player because of her charming personality and unusual intelligence. Ethel Clayton is the typical lady of the screen, scoring her greatest successes while playing such roles. With the future of the motion picture assured, Miss Clayton sought an opportunity to appear on the silver sheet, and was at once engaged for leading roles by the old Lubin Company of Philadelphia. After many years as a Lubin star, she joined the Famous Players ranks and later headed her own company. She has golden brown hair and gray eyes, is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 130 lbs.
