Charles Chaplin
CHARLES CHAPLIN was born in Paris, France, on April 16th., of English parents. From his earliest recollections he turned his attention to the theatre playing in English music halls. Finally he was engaged by Fred Karno to tour America with his vaudeville act "A Night in an English Music Hall." In this he played the part of a rollicking drunkard and his many humorous antics and falls brought him to the attention of the motion picture producers when the act reached Los Angeles where it played at the Orpheum Theatre. He began work with the old Keystone Comedy Company headed by Mack Sennett, working in comedies with Mabel Normand. Sennett later starred him and his success was instantaneous. He has since become one of the greatest of screen favorites. Mr. Chaplin is 5 feet 4 inches in height, weighs 125 lbs., and has brown-gray hair and blue eyes.
