The Handicap

Is a very good way of making a pleasant game between very unequal players, the better player giving a certain number of bisques to his opponent. A bisque is an extra stroke, which may be taken at any time in continuation of a turn; but a ball croqueted in the turn cannot be croqueted again unless a point is made. In other respects the bisque is just the same as if the weaker player had an extra turn.
