These same little hands may prove Messengers of light and love.

Mother! watch the little tongue Prattling eloquent and wild, What is said and what is sung By the happy, joyous child :

Catch the word while yet unspoken, Stop the vow before 'tis broken :

This same tongue may yet proclaim Blessings in a Saviour's name.

Mother! watch the little heart Beating soft and warm for you; Wholesome lessons now impart- Keep, oh, keep that young heart true; Extricating every weed, Sowing good and precious seed; Harvest rich you then may see, Ripening for eternity.

Dare and Do.

ARE to think, though others frown; D Dare in words your thoughts express; Dare to rise, though oft cast down; Dare the wronged and scorned to bless.

Dare from custom to depart; Dare the priceless pearl possess; Dare to wear it next your heart; Dare, when others curse, to bless.

Dare forsake what you deem wrong; Dare to walk in wisdom's way; Dare to give where gifts belong; Dare God's precepts to obey.

Do what conscience says is right; Do what reason says is best; Do with all your mind and might; Do your duty, and be blest.
