to offe: incense. The earth swallowed up some, and "fire from the Lord consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense" (Numb. xvi. 31-35).

Uzzah irreverently put forth his hand and touched the aik when the oxen shook it. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error, and there he died by the ark of God (2 Sam. vi. 6).

Eutychus, a young man attending the preaching of Paul, fell into a deep sleep. IIe sunk down with sleep, and "fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead" (Acts xx. 9).
